What was your major in college and why?

B.S.C. Accounting and Finance, why? Because it was one of the best majors in Bahrain during 2000’s, Accounting and Audit, the opportunities in the market were very high and demanded, this kind of study can integrate the concept of money with business and management, finance can provide a lot of diversity and knowledge across the world.

Could you explain the role of a Finance ISC Manager at Mondelēz?

I can say that it’s not pure finance but its Integration Supply chain where all the department are linked together to deliver the business objectives, in Mondelēz Finance means controlling, process and policy and not only profit and loss, we are looking into all the manufacturing angles and work to implement the control and improve the process.

What specific skills or experiences are considered essential for someone to successfully fill the role of a Finance ISC Manager?

Background and knowledge in manufacturing and the nature of process applies, analysis skill, ability to link between manufacturing and finance process, problem solving, proactive and creative, audit skills, and communication skills.

In what ways has the role of Finance ISC Manager contributed to your skill development?

It adds a lot on my knowledge and experience & to my personal development and self-confidence, also from a technical side it allows me to link between the technical work related to machines and financials, working with BD and Engineers, Quality and ILS team provide a lot of knowledge on how the company is working and how we can drive the excellence process by working with each other.

Can you share some of the challenges you've surmounted in your capacity as a Finance ISC Manager?

Main and complexed project I was part of it was BIC Green field, it was huge project with very minimum resources and lots of challenges in term of timeline to complete the plant and the issues faces with the main contractor who got bankrupt during the project and move on and give success to the project we had to do more than 10 contracts with new vendors and manage the financial and capex spend within the agreed amount we had to work very hard without weekend and imposed control over each and every transaction, monitoring all the physical work on daily basis to ensure no delays.

What potential growth opportunities exist within Mondelēz's finance division, particularly after taking your current role?

Looking for a regional role or commercial role that may suite my knowledge and satisfy my needs in learning new things after 12 years am looking for a further growth and opportunities that global company such Mondelēz, diversity in financial field is very large, and this may provide an opportunity of integration and development in the management and career growth which helps in creating a spirit of challenge to obtain higher position.
