What makes your role exciting at MDLZ?
Having the opportunity to join #TeamMDLZ is a dream come true for me. Going to work day by day excites me so much! My new position in the company has provided me with invaluable opportunities for self-growth, especially in the field of Education and Training. And if there's one thing that excites me most in my role, that would be hearing the stories from the new hires. Witnessing the joy on their faces as you support them through their first few days and make them feel at home in the delicious world of Mondelēz International is an incredible perk of the job.
How did you feel during your transition and onboarding in Mondelēz International?
I remember when I was initially interviewed, I was in the midst of an unexpected crisis; my car had broken down on the way home. That meant I never had a minute to breathe as I juggled an unexpected car problem with the call I'd scheduled and agreed to make with the Talent Acquisition Team. The recruiter was extremely kind and patient, allowing me time to settle in at home before we began the first round of interviews. Then, during my first month working in a WFH setup, I appreciated how my manager recognized the significance of a flexible schedule that fits us. From then on, I knew that this is a great workplace!
How will you describe working with #TeamMDLZ? How diverse are the teams that you are working with like?
The People Services Team in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) is at the forefront of the organization’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion agenda. The experience I get collaborating with people across the region and the world, learning from and teaching to people of all faiths, gender preferences, cultural backgrounds, and traditions, fills me with pride. The atmosphere is one of mutual respect. And most importantly, the entire Mondelēz International team is committed to ensuring that all colleagues have a positive experience from when they join until they retire. Our unique points of view boil down to the intent of a one-big-great company ahead of us.
Are there any activities, spaces, or engagements that you find are supportive of diversity and inclusivity?
The People Team Function actively pushes the DE&I agenda. DE&I campaigns are fronted year-round to increase awareness of the topic and call to action in the workplace and its relevance to the ever-changing working environment. The DE&I in People Team is best reflected in places like online fora, women's networks, and the hashtag #IAmAnAlly.
How do you #MakeItUniquelyYours in MDLZ?
I believe self-empowerment is at the heart of the #MakeItUniquelyYours statement. Diversity in the workplace is something to be celebrated, especially at this time since we have moved past the time when we were expected to perform within narrow confines. YOU ARE YOU; whatever you share with your colleagues, that is you. And so, we continue to embrace our differences as humans, respect and thrive amidst our individuality, as we always see strength in diversity.
