Cardboard
Carboard can be recycled in most homes across Australia and New Zealand. Simply flatten and place it in your recycling bin. After collection, it can be turned into other cardboard products. Most cardboard is produced from recycled paper.
*The waxed paper used to wrap The Natural Confectionery Co. chews are not recyclable. Dispose of these wrappers in the rubbish bin.

Aluminium Foil
Aluminium foil can be recycled in home recycling bins in Australia but generally not in New Zealand.
If you live in Australia, collect small foil wrappers and tightly compact them into a ball the size of a grape (20mm minimum), then place the ball into your recycling bin. Bunching the foil helps prevent it being lost during the recycling process.
If you’re in New Zealand, check with your local authority. Aluminium foil is used for a number of our products, from wrapping Toblerone chocolate bars to sealing Philadelphia cream cheese tubs.
*The foil wraps for Philadelphia cream cheese blocks are a foil-plastic composite which can’t be recycled in Australia or New Zealand. These should be disposed of in the rubbish bin.

Rigid or hard packaging
Mondelēz has selected materials for its hard or rigid packaging (such as tubs, jars and tins) that can be recycled. Place them in your home recycling bin. Remember to leave the lids on, remove any soft plastic packaging and if dirty, please rinse them.

Soft Plastics
Australia:
Together with other industry partners, Mondelēz in Australia is a member of Soft Plastics Stewardship Australia, working to develop long-term solutions for soft plastic recycling.
Woolworths offers soft plastics recycling through in-store collection points. You can drop off your soft plastic packaging, such as confectionery wrappers, at participating Woolworths stores.
Learn more about how to recycle different materials near where you live thanks to Planet Ark.
Some councils offer soft plastics recycling services. Check directly with your council.
New Zealand:
Soft plastic recycling bins can be found at supermarkets and other stores across New Zealand. Simply collect all your empty soft plastic packaging, such as your candy packets, and drop them into these bins.
Soft plastics should not be put in your household recycling bins. This can contaminate the recycling and cause problems with the sorting machinery at recycling facilities.
At Mondelēz in New Zealand, we partner with The Packaging Forum and the Soft Plastics Recycling Scheme to enable consumers to recycle soft plastic packaging at participating stores. Collected soft plastics are delivered to New Zealand processors and turned into new products.

Our packaging vision
We’re aiming for sustainable packaging that protects our products, delights consumers and does not harm the environment. Our vision is to support a circular pack economy by 2050 through better packaging and improved systems.
Our packaging approach
We recognise that packaging waste is a major challenge for our planet. We’re working with stakeholders to support a circular economy by ensuring our wrappers can be recycled again and again in the future. We’re also making strides to reduce plastic packaging use.
