Mondelēz International's Research, Development & Quality (RDQ) center at Wroclaw, Poland - one of the company's nine global technical Centers - is attracting talented people from all over the world. That's partly because of the exciting work we carry out there -creating, developing and producing innovative snacking products - but there are other reasons why ambitious, high-caliber scientists, engineers and technical specialists are joining our Wroclaw teams.
The People
Work can be fun, and everybody is more productive when their colleagues are friendly and helpful, willing to interact and collaborate effectively. That is certainly the case at RDQ Wroclaw.
Diverse: The center is multi-cultural: at the last count, it boasted people from around 30 different countries and almost all the continents of the world. That makes a wonderful, cosmopolitan atmosphere, where everyone appreciates and celebrates unusual backgrounds and experiences.
Sociable: As well as a higher than average proportion of women in our workforce, RDQ Wroclaw teams are typically young - in their 30s - so our people also share a fantastic social life, meeting up outside work and enjoying organized trips and events.
"In our facilities we have people from more than 25 nationalities and it's really great to find how we think, act and work because of that. It's a journey of discovery which is impacting my way to perceive the world positively. I really enjoy that."- Swann (Venezuelan) Senior Scientist - Consumer Inspired Quality Programs MEU
The Work
Mondelēz International has invested some $15 million in our research hub at Wroclaw, so the center is state-of-the-art, combining offices and manufacturing pilot plant in a generous 11000sqm of high-technology space. As well as being located next to a shopping mall, it features its own refreshment facilities and an excellent canteen.
Dynamic:At present the factory makes chocolate and biscuits, with plans on the horizon for a fully functioning gum and candy pilot plant. Over 200 people - mainly technical specialists - work together here to create and develop delicious new snacking products. And our workforce is growing rapidly.
Innovative:Opportunities exist for a range of disciplines, from consumer scientists to process engineers and packaging developers. "The company has helped me develop by allowing me to work with talented people from whom I have been able to learn. It has let me be the owner of my development and choose the path I want to take: becoming a manager, focusing on technical skills, changing category and/or role, changing location, supporting other functions. The office is a beautiful colorful building, that turns out to be comfortable, allows me to interact with people, enjoy a cup of coffee, attend meetings… the office is the second home of more than 180 people coming from 30 different countries… it is full of diversity!"- Aurora Fernanda (Mexican) Senior Scientist Margin Management Biscuits MEU
The Place
Talented people always have a choice about where they work, and increasing numbers are choosing the Mondelēz International RDQ Centre in Wroclaw. It could be because the historic city was this year (2018) named the Trendiest destination in Europe. Among others, it beat Paris, Vienna and Amsterdam to win the title, selected by travelers in an online competition.
It's easy to see why! Wroclaw is charming - often called the "Polish Venice" because it is surrounded by canals. Distinctive features include the Market Square "Rynek", two Town Halls, the Salt Market Square, the Flower Market, the covered market, the fine architecture of the Centennial Hall and the botanical garden.
