Tell us something about yourself and your journey at Mondelēz International.

My name is Nadja Reiter, and in October 2021 I moved to Bremen to join Mondelēz International as a “Jumpee” as part of our three-year Junior Management Program in Customer Service & Logistics (CS&L). I began my journey in the Logistics Operations team, where I was responsible for managing our seasonal warehouse. This role allowed me to build a strong understanding of warehouse operations and end-to-end logistics processes. In addition, I led several quality audits at our warehouse service providers and was involved in an exciting project focused on automating a Co-Packing process.

My next assignment was within the Customer Collaboration team, where I managed customers in the stationary retail segment and built strong relationships on both an operational and strategic level. Furthermore, I actively contributed to the introduction of digital technologies to improve collaboration and efficiency. After successfully completing the Junior Management Program, I remained in the Customer Collaboration team for a while longer, transitioning to e-commerce customers, which offered a completely different and very enriching experience.

In September 2025, I had the opportunity to take my career to the next level by joining the Demand Planning team and leading the Demand Planning function for the German business.

Why did you decide to apply for a trainee program in Supply Chain Management? And why Mondelēz International?

During my studies, I discovered my passion for Supply Chain Management. Its end-to-end responsibility for translating demand into deliveries, while balancing efficiency, cost, and service across the entire value chain, makes it a particularly exciting and dynamic field. I was keen to join a trainee program in an international company because I was looking for a structured and accelerated career start, broad business exposure, targeted development through training and mentoring, and high visibility within the organization. Mondelēz was my first choice as I wanted to work for a leading global consumer goods company. On top of that, I am a huge snacker myself and genuinely enjoy our products.

You were mentioning the introduction of digital technologies. Did you work on an exciting project you can share with us?

Yes, I co-led the implementation of an RPA bot. RPA stands for Robotic Process Automation, a technology used to automate standardized, repetitive, and time-consuming processes. The implementation of “Boti” significantly increased process efficiency and enabled the team to focus more on value-adding activities. Additionally, we designed the bot in a scalable way so that it was not limited to a process in a single market but could be successfully rolled out across multiple Central European markets. This project was especially exciting for me, as RPA was also the topic of my master’s thesis, allowing me to directly translate theory into practice.

Was there anything remarkable during your trainee program that you still fondly remember today?

There were several memorable experiences during my trainee program, making it difficult to choose just one. One highlight was a trip to the home of Milka, our production plant in Lörrach. I had never visited a chocolate production facility before, and spending several days there was a truly unique experience. Learning about the different stages of chocolate production, gaining insights into manufacturing processes, tasting chocolate at each stage, and meeting new colleagues on-site made this experience particularly special and unforgettable.

Can you tell us more about your current role and how you approach new challenges?

As Demand Planning Lead, I work at the intersection of commercial and supply functions. Together with my team, we ensure robust demand forecasts and realistic business plans through our Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process. We actively manage risks and opportunities related to demand and availability, while continuously developing our planning capabilities and shaping future-oriented planning processes.

When it comes to new challenges, I see them as an opportunity to grow and learn more about myself by staying curious and open-minded than rather discouraged. Dreams are dying in your comfort zone, that is why it is so important to step out of it to gain new perspectives, build confidence and continue developing as a person – even when the process isn’t always easy.

To close this interview a very important question: What’s your favourite Mondelēz product?

I am originally from Austria and grew up with the chocolate “Suchard White Junior”, a white chocolate bar with puffed rice. Whenever I get the chance to enjoy it again, it instantly brings back childhood memories.

Today, my favourite Mondelēz products are Milka tablets that include Oreo. Those are definitely my go-to treats!
