From Dajm to Daim

The product idea originated from America and its first name given “Dajm” was a Norwegian phonetic version of the US ten cent “dime”. A name that stayed with the chocolate brand until 1990 when the spelling was changed to the well-known ”Daim”.

1 Plant

The only Daim plant in the world is situated in Upplands Väsby outside Stockholm in Sweden.

History

Dajm

1953

Daim single is launched in Sweden and Norway and becomes a huge success. Almost a decade after Finland is next market to launch.

1971

Daim double is launched, besides the present three markets, also in Denmark.

1990

During the years many markets have been added to the list (1978 Germany, 1980 Switzerland, 1982 Ireland, 1983 Austria and UK), 1988 France, 1989 Japan) and because of the international focus the spelling is changed to Daim (instead of Dajm).

1994

Daim is sold in travel retail and is now crossing additional borders.

1998

New design where the logo itself is illustrating the crack.
