Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We continue to focus on enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion at all levels – from the Board to new recruits. This is not just the right thing to do but a fundamental enabler of our continued growth and success.  We are creating local and global opportunities to further racial equity and economic empowerment by expanding our DE&I initiatives across three key areas: colleagues, culture and communities. These opportunities include mobilizing our consumer-facing brands and leveraging our partnerships with agencies and advertising platforms to drive change, equity and inclusion. Our DE&I approach focuses on setting the tone from the top through our Board of Directors and supported by the Mondelez Leadership Team and Global DE&I Steering Committee.

We have instituted specific DE&I aspirational metrics as part of our strategic scorecard within our annual incentive plan for the CEO and other senior leaders and established a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Steering Team charged with collectively setting the strategy and DE&I goals for the organization. We have seen continuous gains in increasing our representation of women in leadership and have implemented practices to ensure fairness in hiring and pay equity, from requiring diverse slates for open roles to providing inclusivity training for all people managers.

We have invested in multi-year education to build cultural competence for all employees, while also enabling 100% of our Business Units to have partnerships supporting locally relevant underrepresented communities and spending $1 billion with minority and women-owned businesses.

DE&I Governance

Mondelēz International takes seriously our commitment to advancing racial equality and diversity, equity and inclusion (D&EI) among our colleagues, our workplace culture and the communities we serve. We have engaged in numerous programs over many years, with robust oversight systems at both management and Board-level, to address racial justice considerations across our operations and beyond. We transparently disclose data about our performance, including our political contributions.
