Please tell me about your career journey at MDLZ

My journey with MDLZ started when I joined in 1997, as a Merchandiser in Australia. I have since worked in various functions in both Australia and Sweden.

In Australia I started in Sales, before moving into a management position as National Sales Training Manager. I then left the business but came back as National Account Manager for Wholesalers/Distributors.

After a few years I relocated to Sweden, with my now husband. I spent some time at another company in Sweden but came back to MDLZ in 2012 as Trade Marketing Manager, based in the Swedish office in Upplands Väsby.

After some changes to our categories, I moved into a role in Channel Marketing, before coming back into a Nordic Brand Manager role for Marabou chocolate bars. I then started as the Area Sales Manager for Stockholm, managing at team of 12 Sales Representatives in grocery, and from July 2022 I have started as the Shopper Insights Manager for Northern Europe, with focus on the Nordics, which I am extremely excited about!

What do you like about working at MDLZ, what do you think is special about us?

Without a doubt, our fantastic brands and products which make people happy, this filters down into the team at MDLZ. If your products/brands make people happy, how can you not feel some of that?

What are the positive challenges your job presents?

It’s a blank page of opportunities within this role. We have so many fantastic insights and experiences from different channels, tools and resources as a whole from the MDLZ business at our disposal. It’s about matching those insights to the needs of our business and prioritising the most important things to grow our business in the Nordics in a fun and agile way.

What is the most exciting project that you have worked on?

The most exciting project would have to be the launch of the chocolate bar Marabou KEX in 2018, when I was in the marketing role!

What is your biggest learning experience since working with us?

We have so many very intelligent people working within our business, it’s important to build your own personal brand within MDLZ and network, don’t be afraid to say Hi and introduce yourself to someone new at the coffee machine, this will benefit you in the future, as apart from being nice, this could help you as you never know if your paths will cross.

How would you describe the work culture at Mondelēz International and within your function?

A big reason that I returned to the MDLZ family, after working for other companies, is the culture!

I feel we as a business lead from the front, we are agile in our thinking. It’s quite early days to see how the culture affects my new role/function, but the openness from the extended team is imperative for me in my new role, to build relationships and trust, and be included and utilised by the different functions/countries to work together.

What is your favourite MDLZ brand or product?

I am split between 3 products, my heart will always be with Australian Cadbury Dairy Milk, however after 14 years living in Sweden I love Marabou Milk Chocolate, and actually one of the all time best snacking products is Freia Kvikk Lunsj from Norway!
