What does a typical day in the life of a Total Rewards and Performance Lead look like?

A typical day includes partnering with business stakeholders to evaluate opportunities where we may enhance employee experience through process and benefits pivots. It also involves working with several cross-functional teams to bring our Compensation and Benefits offerings to life.

You have spent over two decades in your field, what drew you to it in the first place and what keeps you motivated enough to bring your best self to work, every single day?

I am an avid marathon runner. Running for me is a reflection of MY private time and my go-to medicine for stress and negative thoughts. Whenever I go for a run, I come back refreshed, cleansed and new. My current role enables me to bring my personal appreciation of physical and mental well-being priorities to the forefront while proposing policy changes.

I feel ‘Rewards’ form the backbone of a corporate's value proposition for its colleagues. It has a deep impact on colleagues lives inside as well outside office. How we pay and how our benefits offerings support our colleagues as they navigate their professional and personal lives, makes this role exciting. I am passionate about doing my best everyday with the knowledge that my work will have a positive impact on a large population.

How does your role play a part in creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace culture at MDLZ?

Our benefits and policies govern how we support our colleagues in MDLZ through their professional journey and also during their critical life stages. We continuously strive to listen to our colleagues’ needs and pivot our policies so that we maximize their experience and strive to ensure that all policies are equitable and inclusive without any bias. With a sharp focus on well-being, we recently launched our cashless OPD (Outpatient Department) program for all our colleagues at MDLZ India. This enables colleagues to get unlimited access to medical consultations and diagnostics across 22+ specialities at their preferred locations. We also enhanced our Parental Leave for Secondary Care givers (for new fathers) from previous 10 days to 4 weeks enabling them to spend quality time with their families during critical life stages.

What type of projects or experiences have you taken up to help grow your career in different ways at Mondelēz?

Given the rich legacy of MDLZ in India, every project has been a learning experience, whether it was working on the Special task force during Covid years to provide support to colleagues and their families, or working on change management projects, or redefining how we look at our Rewards and Benefits strategy to attract key talent and retain them. Every job I've had here has been very engaging, and I've always felt like I've been able to make a real difference.

What has been your most cherished memory of working with MDLZ or the biggest challenge you have overcome?

For me, the launch of MDLZ India Well-being Program "Livewell" is one of my cherished memories at MDLZ. This required us to bring all our different wellbeing programs and drives under one flagship program and enhance awareness around its offerings. We moved from an only offline mode to a Hybrid model providing digital access to our colleagues across 22+ states. This gave our colleagues the freedom and access to a wide range of wellbeing programs at any time as per their convenience. The program has since evolved into one of MDLZ signature well-being programs including Primary Care offerings and we have received positive feedback from our colleagues.
