CDP RECOGNITION FOR TRIPLE ‘B’ ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE AND SUPPLIER ENGAGEMENT LEADERSHIP

Independent validation of our environmental progress

Thursday, February 10, 2022

At Mondelēz International, we’re on a mission to lead the future of snacking by offering the right snack, for the right moment, made the right way – we call this Snacking Made Right. We’re focused on making our snacks more sustainably by using less energy, water and waste, with ingredients consumers know and trust.

We have specific goals to which we hold ourselves accountable, and we’re continuing to make progress and scale our efforts to deliver meaningful change. One way we hold ourselves accountable is being transparent with our environmental progress data by submitting to CDP, a global non-profit promoting environmental disclosure for companies and governments.

We are proud to be recognized by CDP with a triple 'B' score for 2021, highlighting our environmental management performance on climate change, forests and water security.

Additionally, we’re delighted to have earned a place on CDP’s 2021 Supplier Engagement Leaderboard with an 'A' score in recognition of our efforts to measure and reduce climate risk within our supply chain. This honor applies to just the top 8% of companies who disclosed to the full CDP climate questionnaire.

As a Supplier Engagement Leader, we're taking action to measure and reduce environmental risks within our supply chain.

“Our data shows that companies currently have blinkers on when it comes to assessing their indirect impacts and engaging with suppliers to reduce them. Companies must act urgently to cascade action and manage environmental impacts throughout their supply chains to scale the level of action to secure a 1.5°C future,” said Sonya Bhonsle, Global Head of Value Chains & Regional Director Corporations, CDP. “Many congratulations to the 500+ companies earning a place on CDP's 2021 Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. As a Supplier Engagement Leader, Mondelez International is a trailblazer driving the transition towards a sustainable net-zero future."

The full methodology for CDP scores is available on CDP’s website as well as the Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) Introduction and SER methodology 2021 for more information.
