Mary Beth West is Executive Vice President and Chief Category and Marketing Officer, Mondelēz International, Inc. She is responsible for Consumer Insights & Strategy, Integrated Marketing Communications, Consumer Services, Sustainability, and Corporate and Government Affairs. She also leads the company’s biscuit, gum and candy, and chocolate Global Category Teams. She held the same position at Kraft Foods Inc., the predecessor to Mondelēz International, prior to the spin-off of the company’s North American grocery operations in October of 2012.
Prior to this, Mary Beth was Group Vice President, Kraft Foods and President, North America Beverages sector, where she managed a $3 billion portfolio of iconic brands such as Maxwell House coffee,
Tassimo, Crystal Light, Capri Sun and Kool-Aid. She was named to this position in April, 2006.
Mary Beth began her career in 1986 when she joined General Foods as Associate Product Manager on Maxwell House. She held a number of marketing positions of increasing responsibility in both the Maxwell House
and Desserts Divisions. In 1998, she was promoted to Vice President, New Business Development to work on new products. The following year, she became Vice President of Marketing for the Enhancers Division, leading efforts on Miracle Whip salad dressing and Kraft Mayo and salad dressings. In 2001, Mary Beth was tapped to run Kraft’s Meals Division, a post she held for three years. In late 2004, she was appointed Group Vice President, Kraft Foods and President, North American Grocery sector, where she managed brands including Jell-O, Cool Whip, Grey Poupon and A.1.
She serves on Board of Directors for J.C. Penney Co., Inc. and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council. Mary Beth has been recognized for her achievements by the Minority MBA’s Next Generation of Business Leaders. She received a Bachelor of Science in Management from Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y. and an MBA from Columbia University.
